An Innovations Zone will feature sensory-perception equipment, like a musical harp and a half-dome listening disc, to engage young imaginations. A retreat hut will provide a calming space for sensory-sensitive children, ensuring a welcoming environment for all. The project also includes an amphitheater, sports courts, and updated parking lots with EV charging stations. Community services manager Jennifer Colacion indicated that the reopening date is still under evaluation for safety considerations. Phase Two will expand the park with baseball fields and additional facilities, though no timeline has been set for these improvements. Funded by the city’s General Fund and various grants, the total construction cost is approximately $16 million, highlighting the city’s commitment to enhancing community spaces.
